Single Family Residential Yard Waste Programs
The new Minnesota State law (State Statute 115A.931-YARD WASTE PROHIBITION) requires that you now use compostable bags for your yard waste. The law was written to keep black plastic out of composting facilities, which creates an organic waste stream free of plastic. Compostable bags include; Kraft paper bags or compostable plastic bags that are usally clear or a tinted shade of green, white, or pink. However the color is not a sure way of determining the compostability of a plastic bag. Compostable plastic bags must state that they meet ASTM D6400 standards for composting and that they are “compostable”. Not all bags marked “biodegradable” or “degradable” meet the state law. Most home improvement, grocery and hardware stores carry compostable bags. If you don’t see them at your local store, ask an employee. Extra bags of yard waste will be taken. They are billable at $2.00 per bag.
Option 2: Our Extended Yard Waste Program. This program allows you to have all bagged grass clippings or leaves, and 2 bundles of brush taken each week. (Brush needs to be tied in bundles you can fit your arms around. The brush can be no longer than 4’ and no larger than 2” in branch diameter. Extra bundles of brush will be taken. They are billable at $2.50 each). There is no credit for late sign up or early termination. As with all waste, we restrict bag weight to 40 lbs. Yard waste is collected by a separate truck, which has a separate route. Please have all yard waste to the curb by 6:00am on collection day.
All of Randy’s service fees are subject to an Environmental Fee and a fluctuating Fuel-cost Adjustment . |
